Wanted to share an exercise I’ve been using a lot lately with runners that have hip abduction and/or core weakness contributing to knee pain as they exercise.  It is a basic side plank performed with the top leg performing a running-like swing motion.  This extra movement really forces the lower leg hip ABDers and core to work a lot harder.  I performed this exercise with my bottom leg bent but it can be progressed to a straight leg version for more advanced athletes.

My technique is not perfect in the video as I was sliding a lot on the gym flooring I was on but you will get the idea from the video:
